BROCKTON, Mass. – Carol Bulman, CEO and Chairman of Jack Conway, one of New England’s largest independent real estate firms, was celebrated as the 2025 Education and Community Champion during Massasoit Community College’s fourth-annual Evening of Champions President’s Reception on Thursday, May 15.

The event, held at the College’s Brockton campus, gathered over 130 community leaders, partners, sponsors, and alumni to honor Bulman for her remarkable contributions to the business community and her extensive volunteer work.

Bulman was recognized for her dedication to the community, her leadership at Jack Conway, and her longstanding partnership with Massasoit, which has enriched the lives of students and fostered community engagement. “It’s a true honor to be named an Education and Community Champion by Massasoit Community College,” Bulman shared after receiving the award. “This institution is more than just a college – it’s a lifeline for so many. It’s where potential is nurtured, where dreams are made possible, and where community becomes family.”

The Evening of Champions is a hallmark event for Massasoit Community College, which serves as a beacon for education and support in the Brockton area. Hosted in the College’s Student Center, the event also highlighted the achievements of alumni and current students, while raising awareness about Massasoit’s academic programs and its array of student services. Coastal Heritage Bank, Corient, Jack Conway, and Eastern Bank served as Champion Sponsors for the event.

Massasoit President Bill Mitchell spoke about the College’s role in the community, noting that Massasoit’s faculty and staff play a crucial part in supporting students through various challenges. “Our students face food and housing insecurity, and many don’t have the means to get to campus or find childcare. Our team works to provide resources and opportunities to help our students overcome these challenges,” Mitchell said during the event.

Throughout the evening, attendees heard from notable speakers, including Massasoit alumni like John Murphy, who went on to have a successful career coaching college and professional soccer, and Heléna Beeloo, a recent graduate preparing to begin her Ph.D. in physics at Yale University this fall. Luc Louis, a current student and survivor of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, shared his powerful journey of resilience and success at Massasoit.

Bulman’s award was the evening’s centerpiece, recognizing not only her professional accomplishments but also her impact on the Greater Boston community. A longstanding advocate for volunteerism and community development, Bulman has worked closely with Massasoit to further its mission of providing quality education and support to students from all walks of life.

The event was emceed by Simone Santiago, vice president of Massasoit’s Foundation Board of Directors, and Senior Municipal Bond Trader at Fidelity Investments. A special video presentation showcased the profound impact Massasoit’s dedicated faculty and staff have on their students, offering a glimpse into the everyday work that shapes the College’s dynamic academic environment.

Previous Evening of Champions honorees have included a range of influential community leaders and organizations, such as Marvelous Marvin Hagler (posthumously), the Boys & Girls Club of Metro South, the Brockton Area Branch NAACP and its longtime President Phyllis Ellis, and notable business leaders like Peter Forman of the South Shore Chamber and Chris Cooney of the Metro South Chamber.
