Watertown, MA– Craft beer fans, foodies, and Watertown residents alike have reason to “celebrate a mighty moment” as Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., a locally owned and independent craft brewery, proudly unveils its newest location and concept– Mighty Squirrel Taproom and Tapas at Arsenal Yards.
Following several successful years of hosting a seasonal biergarten at the dynamic mixed-use neighborhood, Mighty Squirrel is excited to establish a permanent home at Arsenal Yards.
“Mighty Squirrel has long been a favorite among our Arsenal Yards community, and we’re thrilled to now welcome them as a permanent fixture,” said Ryan Feinberg, Vice President, Leasing at Wilder. “Their lively atmosphere and dedication to crafting exceptional brews align perfectly with the vibrant community we’ve cultivated here at Arsenal Yards.”
Located at 102 Arsenal Yards Blvd, right next to The River Green and alongside the Charles River, the new 7,000-square-foot space aims to set a high bar for brewery craftsmanship, food, and hospitality. A huge outdoor patio will offer ample seating with picturesque views of Arsenal Yards Park, which features new tennis and pickleball courts, a community garden, and a skatepark, all rolling right down to the banks of the Charles River.
The space will feature a full food menu with contemporary, elevated, shareable dishes from around the world, each thoughtfully crafted by Mighty Squirrel’s culinary team to pair perfectly with guests’ favorite Mighty Squirrel beers. Menu highlights include the tinga tostadas, aloo tikki, tuna aguachile, tikka masala, lamb lollipops, roasted beets and burrata salad, tuna poke bowls, lobster rolls, ribeye steak and baja fish tacos, Thai beef and chicken skewers with pineapple salsa, patatas bravas, bacon brussel sprouts, birria poutine, and much more. Additionally, a private event menu is available for any occasion.
“We’ve seen Arsenal Yards grow into such a fun and vibrant spot firsthand over the past five years, and we’re beyond excited to finally call it home,” said Naveen Pawar and Henry Manice, Co-Founders of Mighty Squirrel. “We can’t wait to open our doors to the community and become a part of it. This space is going to be about community, connection, family, and the outdoors. Most importantly, we want this space to be about building bridges.”
The new location is the result of a collaborative effort between Mighty Squirrel, Haynes Group, who managed the design, development, and construction of the taproom, and Phase Zero Design, now merged and rebranded as Colliers Engineering & Design, and is a true testament to the power of creativity and collaboration. Guided by Mighty Squirrel’s vision, countless industry professionals and skilled craftsmen came together to bring this project to life and create something truly special.
“The Haynes team couldn’t be more thrilled to deliver a unique space for Mighty Squirrel to serve yet another dynamic community in the Arsenal Yards neighborhood. The taproom is an exciting destination for craft beer aficionados and foodies alike. Opening just in time for summer, the outdoor patio is the perfect spot to enjoy the New England weather! Haynes’ partnership with Mighty Squirrel dates back nearly a decade, and we are thrilled to have delivered two locations with their team in the past two years. A huge thank you to our teammates and partners for working tirelessly to complete another amazing build,” said Patrick Andrews, Haynes Group Senior VP of Hospitality.
“Collaboration with Mighty Squirrel began in 2018, spanning Waltham, Fenway, and now Arsenal Yards,” said Mark Joyce, AIA, Associate Principal at Colliers Engineering & Design. “Each location is unique yet reflects the brand through intentional design. At Arsenal Yards, a natural palette, central bar, open sightlines, and garage doors to a spacious patio create a strong sense of place.”
